It's All In Vain

Warning: Emo Entry

Tears flowed down the instant words like "disappointed" and "angry" blurted out from the judge's mouth.

I was caught off guard, shot from the back and died so innocently.

All i did was help.

Help.

I only had minimal clue of it and i had to follow through it.

Even when i had my own baggage with me, i carried his along.

Tired and stressed as i was, i carried his baggage along.

And i completed it.

And i was sure i did so.

When i was accused of not completing it, judgement came so swiftly.

I was suddenly "incapable" and worse of all, "irresponsible".

But I was accused.

I was the innocent man accused of murder.

So i laid out the evidence to prove my innocence.

And i was acquitted.

But the judge wasn't appeased.

I was then accused to another.

Another i did not commit.

I was a consequence of circumstances.

Not a cause.

But I was too distraught to put up a defence for myself.

I couldn't speak with emotions choking me and tears flooding my eyes.

I was convicted. And he was free to go.

And now i lay behind bars, with tears and misery as my company.

Until i am acquitted.

Taking Me Under

Warning: Tired and slightly emo entry.

I'm so tired i feel i can crumble any time.

I'm exhausted to the point i feel breathless when talking.

Getting called on by three different people to do three different type of work is just pure craziness.

Each one expects something from me.

In addition, a part of me pressurises myself to complete them all quick and well too.

But i can't.

Maybe i'm incapable. Maybe i'm forgetful. Maybe i'm slow.

But i try my best.

But the demands keep growing and the stress i put on myself keeps increasing.

And i can't find it in myself to "fight" back, if there was any chance.

All i can do is apologize for being slow and incapable.

But i just keep feeling that every little effort of mine does nothing to make work less.

The more i try the more work there is.

Help is out of the question too.

Seeking assistance is seen as dependence/ over-reliance on them.

Asking a favour from others is seen as incapablity, if not laziness, on my part.

I try.

I do try very hard.

And sadly, i can only keep on trying.

Til i crumble and fall.

The Beautiful Occupation

Sorry for the lack of updates... Been lazy and tired and god knows what i'm going through. haha.

After finding out about the kitties in my house, Kenny G and Gracie also wanted to play with those feline creatures. So before we went out on Saturday, they came to my house for a purry good time with my kitties.

Photobucket
Doing Well

Photobucket
Not So Well

Photobucket
Guess it takes time. haha

These kitties are becoming quite a hit aren't they? Even more popular than me now! Argh... But they're stinking up my brother's room and my brother who is obviously keeping them as part of his loveplan (to get/keep the current target) can't be bothered to play/feed/do anything with those kittens other than putting them in his room. Well, at least it's not in my room. haha

Well, after playing with the kittens, we made our way to Orchard to check out the LIME flea market where i bought another T-shirt! I seriously have a T-shirt craze now. Can you believe this -> i bought 4 T-shirts in two weeks! OMG, i don't exactly have a lot of money and i'm spending so much so fast! Then again, this is part of my wardrobe overhaul which is, of course, going into completion soon! haha. *telling myself* It's good investment, it's good investment, it's good investment.........

But for the finale for Sat, it was off to Esplanade for the long-awaited DIM SUM DOLLIES!!!

PhotobucketPhotobucket

It was hilarious! I was practically laughing out loud at their jokes on the government (taboo!), Spice Girls (Woo!!!) and many things Singaporean (SPGs, CHIJ girls, Enbloc...). Very funny indeed. The different accents they put on during the show was also very funny! Pam Oei did this malay accent in one sketch and it was super duper classic malay-ish la! haha...

For once, i was proud of being a Singaporean. It felt as though Singaporeans are an interesting bunch of people. But of course, reality sank in after the show haha... But i really think it's a show EVERY singaporean should watch to instill a sense of patriotism in them. Singaporeans might be a boring bunch but we're witty ok!

PhotobucketPhotobucket
Posing at Esplanade! I look preppy!

Anyway, when we got to Esplanade we found out there was an post show autograph session by the Dim Sum Dollies and Hossan Leong! Of course, celebrity-crazed as Kenny G was (i'm abit also la), we took the rare opportunity we had to take pictures with them and get their autographs.

Photobucket
Dim Sum 3, Hossan and Us

Photobucket
Autographs!

Sat was a really nice day. Found an excuse to dress up slightly nicer and have a great time laughing. May all Saturdays be so fun!

JLOE Favourite Artiste – Ronan Keating

Photobucket
Ronan Keating

Albums: 5 – Ronan (2000), Destination (2002), Turn It On (2003), 10 Years of Hits (2004), Bring You Home (2006)

10 Songs I Like:
1) The Long Goodbye***
2) Last Thing On My Mind
3) When You Say Nothing At All
4) I Love It When We Do
5) Lovin' Each Day
6) The Way You Make Me Feel***
7) We've Got Tonight
8) Life is a Rollercoaster
9) If Tomorrow Never comes
10) All Over Again

This boyband-turned-solo singer has certainly come a long way to secure his position here in my Hall of Fame. He is honestly the ONLY male singer with ALMOST ALL of his songs on my ipod. Ronan's songs are without a doubt, radio-friendly and very listenable, which is probably why people still listen to him. But he certainly made a good transition from boyband cheesy to adult contemporary pop, which in my opinion a good career move since he can't be cute forever to all his female fans. Being a father, he can totally translate the maturity he possesses into heart-wrenching sentiments in his songs. My favourite song of his, "The Long Goodbye" has also very certainly secured a seat in my Top 100 All time favourite songs list forever. The song is touching and relates to all the different setbacks i've had throughout all these years. However, his most recent album did not heat up the charts like the previous ones, which is a tad worrying to me. Well, i can only say good music is not always appreciated. Sad but true. Nevertheless, Ronan has a loyal music fan no matter what. And that's me.

Atomic Kittens

After ending a pretty worrying day, i finally met up with Yang Sis! Haven't met since her birthday la... haha. Complained to her about life and work (as usual) and talk about random stuff like Valentine's Day and crazy friends. On the way back, i told her about the recent additions at home, two SUPER CUTE KITTENS!

Photobucket
SO CUTE!!! and it's only one of them...

My Eldest brother apparently picked them up from the streets when they were born not too long ago. Can't believe my brother will do such a sweet thing. Maybe he does have a softer side too haha...

Well, Yang Sis got ALL EXCITED about them and wanted to see them RIGHT AWAY so we rushed back from Orchard Road. SUPER EXCITED she was when i was describing to her the kittens and if you know me, i'm not good at description. haha.

Pictures!
Photobucket
No names yet, but i'll thinking of MANDY & MOORE!!! haha

PhotobucketPhotobucket
Hey kitty kitty... Yang Sis and Me

These feline creatures are the cutest! I've always wanted to have cats as pets! But i'm not too sure my parents will want them though. Plus i find it inauspicious to have them this year considering we're in the RAT year. I'm illogically superstitous so i'm leaning towards giving them up since i've been in pretty bad dumb luck recently. But whatever the outcome is, i still find these kittens super cute!

Pumpkin Soup

Like how a soup becomes thicker and better the longer it's cooked, i hope my life can become more fulfilling with each passing day - i can handle work with more confidence, face life with greater optimisim and approach friends with a more "real" me.

Happenings On Sat

1) Ice-cream Delight at Island Creamy

Pineapple Tart Ice-Cream! How amazing is that? Haha..
One of my favourite CNY food made into ice-cream! I really like this flavour, not too sweet and brings out the often strong taste of pineapples in a delightable way. Not forgetting the biscuit crumbs of the tarts adding more chewy sensation into this refreshing flavour.
The other scoop was Horlicks Ice-cream! Amazing! But i got kinda sick of it halfway haha.

2) Juno Movie

Pure Oscar Fever this year! Can't believe this is the third Oscar film i've watched after Sweeney Todd (blah...) and Atonement (Woo!!). My Advice: Pure-bred Singaporeans should not watch this movie unless they want to waste money to make them feel ang-moh-ish.

3) Shopping Spree for Tees

Bought 3 t-shirts from bugis! Love love love T-shirts!
Finally felt i did my CNY new clothes shopping haha.

Something In Your Eyes

One day late but never too late i hope. It was unfortunate that i has a rough moment on the night of Valentine's Day (although it kinda mirrors the hopeless sad date-less mood desperate singles feel on that day - but i'm not one of them) but nevertheless, i will still deliver my small note of good wish to all lovebirds out there, in the form of a song.

This is David Martin's "Something in Your Eyes". May your love lasts.

Take a walk with me
And lets go back in time
Do you remember
The heat of December
and the way we walked
through pouring rain and in a star
and the way we laughed out loud

chorus:
there was something in your eyes
and now I see it was your love for me
there was something in your eyes
and what I saw still holds me in all
in your eyes

spend your life with me
until the end of time
we will make more memories
and we will share the stories
of the way we walked
through the pouring rain and in a star
and the way we laughed out loud

Chorus

And I saw a million angels
I saw an endless sunrise
I saw an open heaven
In your eyes
I saw an angels moment
I saw an endless love
I still see more than that through your eyes

Do you remember the way we danced
And the way we laughed out loud

Love is... beautiful.

Back To Black

Warning: Emo Entry.

The tears have fallen.

The eyes have dried.

I saw it coming and i knew it wasn't going to be good.

But i never expected it to come down to "ANYHOW DO" to make me break down.

I feel underappreciated and accused when i did all i could to salvage the situation.

When i come to think of it, the trap was laid for me to fall in. It was cruel, painful and worse, unfair to me.

Part of me cries for myself and the other half for being so naive to think i could do it well and believe in the good of others.

Me and only me will face the oppression, with the rest either favoured or isolated from it altogether.

Only me will stand against to fight this losing war.

And i will keep fighting and tumbling, losing pieces of me till i lose my spirit altogether.

I will stand up once again, but the fact remains i've fallen and fallen deep.

Tomorrow's not just another day.

Cause i need to bite my tongue and clench my fist while holding back the tears.

I just pray that i can make it through the toughest times without an outburst.

The last thing i want to happen is for me to be seen as incapable AND weak.

I'm tired and tired of it.

I need to escape.

Thank god tomorrow's friday.

If the tears don't hold, at least i have the weekends to recover.

24 hours.

That's all it takes for the misery to end.

P.S:
1) Kenny G and Ton, would have crashed and burned if not for you guys. The deepest thanks.
2) Ter-weeds and Giddy, thanks for the laughs/company. The day didn't seem that bad with you two.

China Travelogue - Shanghai Day 4/5

Photobucket

We arrived at Shanghai at about 1230pm and went straight for lunch at a temple street. YuYuan street if i didn't remember wrongly. Because it was CNY, ALOT of Cheenamen were there!

PhotobucketPhotobucket
Photobucket

Nothing too special there so after eating all the xiaolongbaos and etc, we headed back to hotel to sleep.................... At 5, Father's Shanghai friend, Jenny, took us to this cheapo imitation shopping centre to buy imitation good of course haha... Guess what i bought???

Photobucket

I was freaking happy la!!! If you don't know, i have this BIG fascination with the UK flag! I LOVE IT SO MUCH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! All along i was aving up for a bag like this and i finally got it!!!!! Thank god!!!!!!! I also got my own "Jimmy Choos" in the form of imitation converse shoes in baby blue! Nice!

Photobucket

Dinner was vegetarian and i love meat so i have nothing better to say haha...

_________________________________________________________________

Photobucket

Yups... it's day 5 - THE LAST DAY!!! Morning was breakfast with family and Aunt Jenny where we ordered like so much food at a Hongkong food restaurant.

Photobucket

outside the restaurant

Photobucket

Aunt jenny with my younger bro

In the afternoon, we went to this village at the outskirts of Shanghai city called Zhou Zhuang. All the streets in the town are built along the river and bridges and the streets are connected with each other. The town is well known both at home and abroad for its preservation of numerous buildings of the Ming and Qing Dynasties.

PhotobucketPhotobucket

Photobucket

Because the town is surrounded by water, boats are used for short-distance trips. We actually sat on the boats for a trip around the town. I sat with Aunt Jenny and her foreigner friends. Cool! haha

Photobucket

One's from canada and the other from Iran

Managed to buy some 2008 Beijing Olympics Souveneirs there for my friends:

PhotobucketPhotobucket

After the trip, we left quickly to do some last minute shopping at Shanghai city cause our flight back is at 12 midnight and we have to check in early... Nevertheless i still managed to buy some good stuff:

Photobucket

nice!

Photobucket

movies i can never catch in singapore - don't get the wrong idea of me ok!

Well, that's basically it for the trip... haha...

Photobucket

I'm so tired blogging so much about the trip.

Hope you enjoyed it as much as i enjoyed the trip!

China Travelogue - Dalian Day 3

Photobucket

The third day at Dalian was more of sightseeing. After a heavy breakfast at the hotel, we set off to the state's park to see its seaside scenery.

PhotobucketPhotobucket

PhotobucketPhotobucket

The park is pretty big, probably the size of Ang Mo Kio! haha... As usual, weather was cold. Therefore we had to quickly take pictures and return to the car to seek warmth. At the park, i actually managed to feed some pigeons haha... A few even rested on my hands and head la! Quite scary though.

PhotobucketPhotobucket

But the worst thing happened to my brother fortunately haha! A pigeon which rested on his head actually pooed on him!!! muahahaha... This is a picture of him wiping the shit of his smug face. Ops! i mean off his HAT.

Photobucket

Stupid......

At the park, there was even this magic slope! If you stop your car, it was move by itself! Amazing things they have even in the park isn't it???

Photobucket

At the magic slope

After the park, we went to have lunch at a restaurant that serves village kinda food which obviously mean OLD PEOPLE FOOD. Which also mean i hate that lunch and didn't eat much. There were pig trotters, awful vegetables and bugs. YOU DIDN"T SEE WRONGLY. YES, BUGS!!!!

PhotobucketPhotobucket

Can't believe people actually eat such disgusting creatures!

In chinese, it's called YONG. And JUST FOR YOU, i decided to TRY IT!!! I really pulled my guts out just to deliver you this inside take on how bugs taste like ok... I could actuall see some of its organs la! *faints*

PhotobucketPhotobucket

Extreme Gourmet - I MUST BE MENTAL TO DO IT!!!

Yucks!!!!!!!! The bug's exoskeleton is pretty hard to chew and it's inside (*shutter*) is pretty hmmm... whoosy. Puke man! I spammed the yellow corn porridge while eating the disgusting bug to cover its possible gooey feeling. The result of eating it:

Photobucket

FYI, i actually did puke ABIT after twenty minutes. Stupid bug.

After that we proceeded to shop abit at the neighbourhood shopping malls but didn't buy anything since we were saving up to buy stuff at Shanghai where things are much cheaper. But it was quite cold also. My mum kept complaining about the cold so it was a VERY short shopping trip haha.

Photobucket

Random shot - do i look like ali baba hahah...

Around 6 pm, we left to have dinner at a posh posh restaurant (again). I'm really glad that Uncle Pink is rich haha... cause i don't get many chances to go to such high class places to eat haha. Actually in Dalian i ate really alot. Alot of seafood especially since Dalian is famous for its seafood. Hope i gained some serious weight...

Photobucket

All poshed up

After eating at around 710pm, we promptyly left the dinner to check out the fireworks display at the city centre - the biggest event there during the CNY festive period. There were so many CHEENAMEN la... haha... Fortunately we found a good spot to see the fireworks.

Photobucket

Not bad, managed to shoot myself with fireworks behind. haha

I think in Dalian i've seen more fireworks than i've seen in Singapore in three years? haha... The fireworks were really big and beautiful...

As Yellowcard sings, "Let me light up the sky, light it up for you"

(Will upload soon - took forever today!)

I wouldn't leave you out from the good stuff. So here's a clip of the fireworks to enjoy before i post about day 4/5 in Shanghai!

China Travelogue - Dalian Day 2

DAY TWO
Photobucket

We went ice-skiing!!! Can't believe i saw snow for the first time! haha... Although it's not as AMAZING as i thought snow would be, since what i really wanted to see was FALLING snow, it was still beautiful haha.

PhotobucketPhotobucket

Only my youngest brother and father went for the ice-skiing experience actually - my two other elder brothers were too unsporting to join us argh... Anyway, ice-skiing is QUITE tiring and definitely NOT for people with weak leg muscles. I could hardly control my speed since my leg muscles are as wobbly as jelly. The instructor (yes they provide one) kept telling me to control my legs but i just COULDN"T!!! You think i don't want to contol meh! He also kept telling me to "BIE HUANG! BIE HUANG" (don't panic). But please lah, for someone who can't control his speed and leg movement, especially in such cold windy weather, how NOT to panic? Even if i didn't panic, i still couldn't ski smoothly... Sigh, another sport i can't play haha...

Photobucket

testing testing!

My younger brother was better, much better actually. The instructor kinda likes him because of that. Well, for someone who's taking up Thai-boxing (i just learnt of it - eeeuuu!) i guess he's developed his leg muscles from all the barbaric kicking. He almost 4 ski down the snow slope while i only managed a PATHETIC 2. At least better than my father who did only did one ski down. Whew.. still young.

Photobucket

snow slide

My mother, with Uncle Pink's wife and daughter went for the (much) safer snow slide. Here's a video of my mum shrieking her way down the slope haha... Bet she'll kill me if she knows i put this up to malu her haha...

Seems fun right!

But nevermind, at least i got to ski at least once in my life. Quite the memorable experience skiing and seeing snow! haha.

Since it was already 2pm by the time we finished and got back to the hotel, we rested til 530 pm before heading out again for dinner. There in Dalian, people eat dinner at an early 530pm (this is the time i get off work la!), very much unlike the busy us who eat at 7/8/9pm. According to Uncle Pink, people in dalian are lazy to work or too rich and too lazy to think about work. Wish i was the former...

This time we went to another high class restaurant in Dalian since i've said Uncle Pink is a respectable businessman. Dinner was the usual pick-what-you-order affair. Something cute to share - they served durian/carrot puffs in their respective fruit shapes and colour! Cool!

PhotobucketPhotobucket

The durian puff was quite nice while the carrot puff was realy bland. Which goes to show IMAGE IS NOT EVERYTHING. haha.

After dinner, Uncle Pink brought us around Dalian to see the night view around the city. We stopped at the city centre park - so claimed the largest in Asia - to take pictures with the CNY decorations they had.

Photobucket

The Sims

Speaking of taking pictures, i'm the only one in the family who was actively taking pictures, and of course cam-whoring. My other brothers - don't know whether is acting cool or don't like to take pictures - show disinterest to take photos la. What downers. If only i had a sister to break the monotony of this testoterone-charged family. I would then be able to have someone to camwhore with. I felt so zi lian for cam-whoring infront of them.

Photobucket

Anyway, coming back to taking pictures at the park, again, i risked my LIFE just to take a good shot of myself! haha... It was freaking freezing -7*C cold and no one else other than me took off their gloves to take pictures with my camera. (you had to take it off since it's hard to manoerve the camera with gloves on) My hand almost crammed la! haha... But it's worth the risk isn't it? haha

Well, that's all for DAY 2! Day 3 coming up!

China Travelogue – Dalian Day 1

DAY ONE
Photobucket

Winter is so darn cool I think! How I wish Singapore has it! I could be shopping for scarfs (?), jackets – different colours, designs (with/without headcoat, headcoat with/without fur > Glam!), type (leather, wool, cashmere), trenchcoat (Gool!) cardigans, wool hats, ear covers etc... It would be such a FASHION DELIGHT!!!

It was only after I reached Shanghai Airport (for transit to Dalian) where it became colder and I had to wear a scarf that I discovered there are different ways of putting it round your neck. It's so fun changing the combinations with your jackets/hats! Haha... Pardon me ah, first time experiencing winter weather haha.

Well, as i've mentioned earlier, I first took a flight on Singapore Airlines to Shanghai before finally flying to destination Dalian. Yups, SIA is indeed pretty expensive. But Father says it's more comfortable and would be better since it's a 6 hour journey to Shanghai. But honestly to me, it makes no difference. Whether it's SIA or China Northern Airlines (Cheena local airline), you still can't sleep well no matter what within your small space of economy class seat. I'd rather save the extra money to shop! Hahaha... (Quite the shopaholic now huh!?) It's not as if i'm staying there forever. IT”S JUST SIX HOURS. As long as the chosen airline gets me to my destination fast and safe, i'm satisfied.

Photobucket
Mum and Moi

But honestly, i'm very proud of SIA. It certainly has better food and service and definitely quieter since less cheena-men take our airline. AND the Singapore Girls are much better looking. I was quite lovestruck by how glam and graceful some stewardess looked at the airport! Our air stewardess outfit is really unique and classy. Very nicely done. The stewards on the other hand look quite BIANG with the old-fashion faded blue. Nevertheless, I think being an air steward(ess) is so cool! I get to travel to so many countries! Should consider it as a job... haha

Photobucket
First Light of Dalian

Anyway, we reached Dalian at around 1pm, we proceeded to the hotel to get some much-needed rest. After a short afternoon nap, we left the hotel at 530pm (FYI, 530pm seems like 7pm in Singapore! Similarly, 7pm there seems like 9pm here!) for dinner with my father's friend, Uncle Pink and his family. No offence to him by giving him that nickname. Pink is a VERY macho colour. For very macho guys only. Just that he happened to be wearing Pink the whole trip and I don't wanna use his real name. He's quite the fatherly figure and is a polished chinese businessman – so well/over-qualified to wear the otherwise risky pink.

Dinner was at this super high class restaurant – you couldn't eat at roadside restaurants since most shops are closed on the Eve of CNY (The Chinese regard CNY very highly – duh!). From the picture, you can see table is exceptionally big! That's because Uncle Pink is a wealthy businessman. He even hired a chauffeur to drive us around Dalian during the three days in Dalian!

Photobucket
The really really big table

Uncle Pink must be really rich since we had a 15/16 course dinner at the posh restaurant. Since (as you know) i'm not the “Chinese food” fan, especially since I despise “old people food”, dinner was not exactly to my liking.

But besides the food, the dinner was actually quite awkward. Out of the 11 people (6 of us and 5 of them), mainly my father and Uncle Pink were talking throughout the 2-hour long dinner. The four of us Sim-sons just sat there and look pretty. Ops, I mean HANDSOME (even me haha). I did smile a lot to Uncle Pink's parents-in-law and wife to bring down the awkwardness though haha. Guess it didn't help .

Photobucket

Kinda tired... (Lala behind me! Woo~ Yellow!)

After dinner, we continued the rest of the day at Uncle Pink's house (around 8pm). While the adults engage in their boring adult talk about nothing, I managed to catch an unknown movie by Nicholas Cage on HBO – NEXT! Pretty interesting movie about a man who can see his imminent future 2 minutes before it happens. Lousy ending though. Haha.

Since it was CNY Eve, Uncle Pink's family (or maybe most Cheena families) have the tradition of eating jiao-zis. If you don't know, jiao-zi (or dumplings) has made to resemble the gold bars of the ancient times.

PhotobucketPhotobucket
So sweet of them to make us jiao-zi!

To add fun into this dead-old tradition, Uncle Pink's mother-in-law added in coins/whatever nuts into the jiao-zis. If you happen to eat one with a coin in it, obviously it means you'll have good fortune for this lunar rat year. If you get the nut, it means you'll have good luck. That means you'll have to try harder if you get the normal jiao-zi. I had to eat like 5 jiao-zis before I could get one with something in it...But I got the one with a coin inside!!! I'M BE RICH!!! haha... But all my brothers also got the coin. (-_-) My second and youngest brother even got TWO coins. (-_-)

PhotobucketPhotobucket
Aiyo... cannot stop until i get something! FINALLY! Cannot take it ler...

After having our fill with the jiao-zis, we went outside to play with firecrackers/works! I tell you China is crazy. You can hear fireworks everywhere. I heard like one every 3 minutes. If you go just by sound, you might even think a war is going on in China. Haha. But it was really cool, since there's no strict rules on fireworks, anyone can fire it anywhere, anyhow. There's practically fireworks above my head at some point. SO COOL!

Cool Pic of Firework infront of me

Uncle Pink bought a whole 10 metres long of firecrackers and it was so freaking loud when lit! My ears were doubly hurting – from the cold (freezing minus 6*C) and the noise! Haha We also played with hand-held firework sticks which were kinda childish...

My hands were SO COLD when i took this picture myself!

The risks i took just to CAMWHORE!

But it was still fun experiencing both the cold weather and the fireworks for the first time. Exhausted, we left promptly after midnight. To a better tomorrow!!!

1, 2, 3, 4 Tell Me That You Love Me More

I'm B-A-C-K!!!

After 5 days in Cheena-land, I'm actually quite happy to return to Sunny Singapore. Maybe I'm too sick of my parents and brothers after spending so much time with them.

I reached Singapore at around 530am and by the time I got home and unpack my stuff, it was already 7am. But since I'm on leave, I get the luxury to rest at home, or more specifically my own room! I miss my bed and table and laptop! Awww... Well, one must be taken away from one's environment to appreciate what they usually take granted.

This is beginning to sound like 2007 for me! Last year I was taken away from home to do my BMT. And now this trip has done the same thing, although noticeably shorter. Furthermore, this time last year I was listening to a lot of older songs and I'm doing the same thing again! This is a CYCLE! Cannot let this go on...

Anyway, I'll be sharing my China experience with you very soon – once I upload my pictures I should be able to start blogging about the trip! I wrote a diary when I was there so the feelings are pretty fresh haha

I still can't believe I spent my whole chinese new year over at Cheena-land. So weird. I miss having to see my relatives and visit all the business/personal friends of my parents and I didn't even like doing all those. Guess it's ingrained into my “culture” that's why I feel this way. But besides that, I haven't exactly felt the Chinese New Year spirit like before (not that I go cheena-bonkers during this time). I didn't buy any – before and after (nothing to shop in China during winter) - new year clothes and neither did I eat any new year foodies. I had my first piece of BAH KWA only today! And I only ate like 6 pieces?! I used to eat one quarter of a box of bah kwa lah! Maybe my lips are very dry after the trip but that's not an excuse! I just don't have the mood. Told you it's weird.

Because I didn't buy much, I HAVE to complete my shopping by this or next week if not i'll feel like something's undone always. Haha. I still have shorts, t-shirts and a pair of shoes to buy... Must go shopping! Must keep in mind to make shopping appointments haha.

I also need to cut my hair. Getting too long to be passable already. Superiors are already hinting at me to cut it so I guess i'll do it later. Haha... During the whole trip, because my father advised us not to wash our hair, saying it will cause our body to itch due to the dry weather, my “long” hair became quite smelly! At least to me it didn't smell fragrant (haha) enough. (Shouldn't I even be telling you this? Oh well, I have no image-conscious anyway so who cares.)

And finally the volunteer group contacted me... Keeping my fingers-crossed on it. I need to start something seriously (other than work which is becoming more nauseating).

See I got so many things to do again! *excited* Blog, shop, cut hair, volunteer and maybe, just maybe, start some exercise! (Kenny G, what say you? haha)

Well, off to complete those tasks! Hope to post my China experience soon!

Bop Bop Baby

OMG I'M GOING CHINA!
OMG I'M GOING CHINA!
OMG I'M GOING CHINA!
OMG I'M GOING CHINA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

What i'm uptight about is surprisingly not about the fact that i'm going overseas for the first time (although i'm pretty excited) but whether i can survive the dead cold winter of Cheena-land!

I can so picture the way i die there. I step out of the airport, i start to shiver like a skeleton with fits and i drop dead after five seconds! That's so... SAD! AND UNGLAM!!!

Point taken, i shall dress nice when i reach Shanghai/Dalian so i feel assured that i won't look that ugly when i die.

I realised i might not be able to get the things i want there - which includes shorts, nice t-shirts, shoes and bad. Reason being, i'm going to Dalian for most of my trip in Cheena-land and it's not exactly THE place people go to shop. People go there to ADMIRE the beauty of nature which well..., will be remembered by me only if i took a (nice) picture of me with the scenery. That's why i'm going to cam-whore there for all i care. Secondly, it's winter for goodness sake. Why would the Cheena-men sell SHORTS?! Damn it. Why must the weather be especially cold this year?!

I just finished packing most of my stuff which actually i finished in practically 20 mintues. I only brought two sets of shirts/jeans, with extra extra jackets. *FingerCrossed* I really hope i don't die/fall sick there!!! Am i the only one who thinks i'm bringing too little there? But i really have no clue what to bring. Gloves. Check. Jackets. Check. Wool Hat. Check. That wool-dunno-what-that-covers-your-ears. Check. Anything else???

There's so much stuff undone and i'm leaving tomorrow! Luggage-wise, i still need a few sets of *hem hem*... inner clothing. I need to clear my photos from my camera and i need to sync my ipod! I'm taking a 6 hour flight so i better gear my ipod ready for it. Without good music i'll be bored dead even before i reach Cheena-land! Work-wise, i have alot undone as well! I'm such a mess now!!! Too bad for Joshie and Ton who'll be covering me when i leave hehehehe... *evil smile*

I dunno why i'm still blogging when i feel so flustered now hahaha... Maybe because i JUST returned from reunion dinner with Joshie, Marc, Miss Yv and long-time-no-see Ron (!!!). Tomorrow there's even cohesion outing and we'll be bowling!
(photos, details AFTER the trip)

Ah yo so flustered!!! So many things and so little time!!!

Since this would probably be my last entry before i leave for Cheena-land, i thought i better "say my last words" haha... *major touch wood*

HAPPY CHEENA NEW YEAR!

Lumpy/Princess-C - Rmb KBOX after CNY!
Ah Meng/Racoon - Music Updates have to wait abit ah! See you guys soon!
Kenny G/Gracie/Fengie - Meet up soon for movies/food trips!
Joshie/Ton/Marc/Loba/RonJJ/Jerm/Miss Yv/Miss Chipmunk - Remain Steady! haha
Ter-weeds, Leo/Diong/Neo - Update me with news when i return!

Ok getting too cheesy!!!

I really hope to see you all soon! BYE!!!
(that is if i survive the cold winter)

One Step Closer

First Things First,
HAPPY BIRTHDAY FENGIE!!!
ALL THE BEST FOR YOUR STUDIES & WORK!
MAY YOU HAVE ALL THE LUCK IN THIS WORLD!
(but give some to me ok!)
Photobucket
Since Kel-C had to go back to Australia before Fengie's actual birthdate (13 Feb), we had to celebrate Feng's birthday WAY IN ADVANCE on friday (1Feb). Surprises (Blackforest cake & Hand-made Card) were in place to give our birthday girl the VVVVVIP treatment.

In attendance for this "exclusive" birthday celebration were:

Our birthday girl (duh!) - Fengie

AND THE REST:

PhotobucketPhotobucketPhotobucketPhotobucket

Pretty Gracie, Happy Kel-C, Creamy Kenny G and a VERY HUNGRY me

(Not forgetting Kel-C's Brother Robin)

All together now!

Photobucket

It was a simple affair, with us having dinner at Thai "cheap" Restaurant, Sakura at Yishun Northpoint and talking about random stuff. When deserts time came, we surprised Fengie with the Blackforest Cake we (well, more accurately Kenny G/Kel-C) pre-ordered. She was erm, pleasantly delighted at the sight of the cake. haha. Kenny G even self-designed a card to put on the cake! haha. Not bad ;)

Can't believe time passes so fast. In a few months i'll also be twenty and i'll feel old. Although the only consolation is i still look like a seventeen year old haha. (is that good?) The transition from teenager to adult is slowly but surely taking place, with us feeling the stress of our finances, decisions and work and relations. But i guess changes are part and parcel of life and we can only do our best to face the flux we're put through.

Photobucket

should i be looking forward to my bdae?

After the dinner, we made an impromptu decision to go to Gracie's House to watch Sweeney Todd on her laptop and try her ice-cream float. Her float was nice (Kudos Gracie!) but the movie, despite the hype and acclaim it is getting, is less than satisfactory. Too much Literal-influence for my simple brain to take in haha. And too gorey!

Or maybe i'm just too tired haha.

Photobucket

Our take on Sweeney Todd:

Photobucket

I look so duh! and Kenny G looks like a dead frog! hahaha...

Thanks to Gracie and her mum's very kind hospitality for entertaining and providing us food during the movie!

Seeing how fast time passes, i shall treasure my last days as a NINETEEN-ager.
