Just some random notes:
1) Blogging Mania I have been REALLY ACTIVELY blogging for the past two months! In June i had a total of 15 entries. So far for July, this is my 16th post, which means an average of 4 entries per week! No wonder i have been sleeping very very late this past few weeks... haha
2) Facebook Frenzy I probably have never been as addicted to Facebook than i am NOW. And i (kinda) officially give up my "Fight for Privacy" on facebook. I used to add ONLY friends, friends i have kinda talked more than a few words with. I'm the type of person that like to keep my personal stuff personal, so the idea of having someone who i just saw and talked to me very briefly looking through my photos, stalking my conversations with my friends and maybe even scrutinise what i say or do is not exactly what i like.
But with the recent spade of events (camps and more camps and even more camps...), there is a certainly a frenzy for EVERYONE to add EVERYONE on facebook. And it seems like i have NO CHOICE but to give in to this immense force of peer pressure.
But if there's anything i learnt about this facebook frenzy is that, one might get excited with the fact that you have so many new friends - like the anticipation of something AWESOME that will happen in the future - but in fact it means NOTHING. YET, I STRESS. They know me, but they dont know who i really am. So only time will tell if they are real friends or just facebook friends.
Plus i got kinda caught up in meeting all the exciting people i almost fell into the trap of forgetting my good friends. The "OLD-er" ones (now, they wont really be happy to know tt right? OLD. haha) But thank god i always make the point to keep up, plus i got really sick seeing new faces every other day. I need my constants in life :)
And most importantly, that Facebook, like most of its quizzes and analysis, is crap and should never be taken seriously. So i should just loosen up and open up.
3) Yesterday 28/7/09
* was kinda pleased that i actually spammed the fun/mushy/meaningful messages yesterday morning (if u received u would know). Thanks to some of my friends i receive such messages which usually brighten up my day :) I remember Bee once saying that it's a way of keeping in touch with some of her friends she might not have the time to always talk to. Which i increasingly find it a very good and sweet way to make them remember US (not me, US as friends), show that i still remember them when i'm busy etc.
* yesterday was also a very vulgar day! I got so addicted to Lily Allen's new single "F*** You" and kept singing along to it. Only at the comfort of my own room though. Plus don't tell me to sing in public LOL, i don't say vulgarities! (until now that is, and i SING it, so much "nicer" haha)
* then i decided very suddenly to join Ter-weeds and YT for dinner at Ter's gf cafe, 15 Minutes at Laselle. I haven met Ter since he ORDed last friday (congrats! haha) and it was a great time for us to catch up since so much happened even during the week i went OBS.
* Ter was wearing his pretty vulgar cap and i tried it on for fun! haha
   i look abit stupid in the third photo - the cap says "F*** the FAKESHIT" - ( very appropriate considering the superificiality of many things now) * plus i even drank a full pint/cup of BEER! I know i will never look like the type that drinks (goody two shoes, guai guai, un-adventurous, un-wild, un-happening etc etc haha), but i DID! haha. Plus i was in a GOOD MOOD talking to Ter and YT. I was very glad i went to meet them.
*then i went home and talked to a few more friends, tying up the ends for a very pleasant day :)
Closer to Love

I Saw Paris Burning
OBSFinally i have the time to update about OBS! haha In short, OBS was not as physically demanding as i thought (probably our programme planned that way) but it made me think back on alot of my personal issues - things about my life and decisions, my relationships with family and friends, and of course, the future. my dear fellow MOH scholars :) hee my group, HOLT! the reason probably why it wasn't that physically taxing probably was tt they wanted us to engage in discussion/sharing/feedback before and after activities. my group was pretty quiet at first, even i was quiet (as usual? haha). but it was probably til the last two days that everyone started to open up and we all started to have alot of fun talking to each other. having cam-whorish fun at our dorms. *********************************** day 1 was high elements where we had to climb some high obstacles. we were also taught how to belay and stuff pretty fun tiring to climb up the obstacles, and it felt quite easy hehe. * interesting point: the instructor was relating the act of BELAYING to our lives. belaying, as u know, is like supporting the climber as he ascends/descends, and therefore similar to anyone in your life who supports you: making me think of my family who has supported me all these years AND my dear dear good friends who are always there to listen to me :)************************************ day 2 was personality analysis using MBTI. realised i was 1) a CLEAR introvert2) a moderate THINKING/JUDGING/SENSING person.which in simpler terms meant: i am not a easily sociable person, especially with strangers. i am a very practical and matter-of-fact person. analytical and logical scheduled and organised * i dont like that i am not as sociable as i would like to be. but well, i can't help tt. i can talk a hell lot when i'm with my good friends but i dont like to share much with people i dont even really know well enough to trust them. but then again, "the more you share, the more they share with you too"!(i wrote this for a fellow "introvert" haha) so i guess i need to be more open. ha. ******************************** Day 3- Raft Challenge - HOLT Challenge Flag :) For this raft challenge, we split into 2 groups. one to earn the points needed to built the raft and the other to build the raft. Obviously with my lack of "engineering" knowledge/skill, i went with the team that earned the points needed. honestly it was ALOT of fun. we had to all skip together, juggle ping pong balls (tt was hard!), untangled ourselves from each other, solve puzzles and even sing! all these while the other half worked hard at the raft! THANKS! but we left the last game " human caterpillar" to the builders so they have some fun too builders and we "gamers" camwhored :) the builders even joined in the photo taking middle of their games (quite comical - got time limit, still can stop and take photo! haha) all together again :) then it was time to test out the raft we built! does this look like "SURVIVOR"? the flag waiting for us! (our instructor: KM) ah, success! **************************** after the challenge, some of us went to the jetty to enjoy the beautiful scenery! with the wind and sunset, it was wonderful :) ******************************** Day 4- Sea Expedition - we learnt to kayak too on day 3 and already we set on for an expedition the next day! i've always wanted to try kayak since it seems to be very interesting paddling in the water and moving the boat with coordination. haha, so it was pretty exciting for me to finally try it. my dear kayak mates - QY and JB! (it was a tri-yak) basically, we kayaked around half of ubin, from ard 9am to 33o pm. sure it was tough to keep on paddling but my dear kayak mates KEPT on playing the brainless game of FUZZY WUZZY enroute there. And QY and I could never ever get it! camwhoring at sea haha. then on the way back, i think our kayak was really noisy cause we continued to play our own games like ROCKS!. Very distracting. Very good. haha. It was really a fun fun fun experience. On top of that, it was quite a mental challenge too trying to perservere on and keep paddling when there seems like no end to it. haha. but i enjoyed every moment of it.* major point: trying to pee in the sea IS DAMN DIFFICULT. and EMBARRASSING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ********************** Still Day 4- Camping the Night Out - After the expedition, we also had to spend the night out in the "wild" aka an open field area NEAR the forest. Still i got ALOT OF MOSQUITO BITES! (still itching and scratching like a monkey now! haha) some built tents, some cooked talking to each other under the stars *** HOLT since it was the last night at OBS, we didnt really bother to build a good tent, especially since we didnt expect it to rain too (weather has been very good the past few days). the tent was basically JUST A PSEUDO-SHELTER. ha unluckily, it started to rain around 4am. the girls from my grp were saying they were trying v hard not to let water come in and they were like packed like a cocoon. as for the guys (all guys in one tent ourselves), we decided to camwhore at this unexpected misfortune. then the rain became FAR too heavy that we decided to abandon our tent. haha. and continued to camwhore in the rain. haha me and chanzy what the tongue was for i seriously dont wanna know! the rain made the whole night SO unforgettable :) haha. ******************************** Day 5 - Final day - We did our commitment jump. (my commitment is to GET FIRST CLASS HONORS!) (cause i didnt know what else to say haha. but i seriously hope to achieve too!) a random shot of me before the jump. and that's me AND THE FINAL GOODBYE Thanks to all my HOLT grpmates for the interesting experience :) ha but of course, to all fellow scholars for being part of this (i believe) once-in-a-lifetime experience. We all had good fun :)
A Loss Is A Loss Is A Loss Is A Loss
Today's title, a little exaggerated i know, is a phrase i came across in an article in today's Sunday Times titled "Does Crying ever solve anything?" and thought it raised some pretty good points. FYI, I didn't cry or come remotely close to crying. Just abit down/disappointed/unsure about the future.
* she/the writer mentioned that crying does not solve anything = me drowning in my own sadness does not solve anything
* the best advice for getting over your problem is probably to: accept the "loss" and reconcile yourself to its reality.
* in simpler terms: allow yourself a good cry because it is human and okay to be sad, then pick yourself up and get a move on.
which is what i'll do now. i dont even know why i'm down, ok i'm just actually abit reluctant to step back into uni life when all is uncertain (current prospect: not so good) while desperately trying to hold on to the all the good things & good friends i have in life now.
Ok, no more worries from now on!
**************************************
On a much brighter note:
1) December in USA! Krys suggested that i join her in Dec for holidays in SFO and NY and we became so excited at the thought of visiting THE HILLS with each other's great company :) That was all i thought of during OBS by the way... haha. And my parents allowed me to go, which only makes BUYING THE ACTUAL AIR TICKET the last step! The plan is to spend Christmas and New Year's there! It'll be so liberating to escape from Singapore after so long. Was planning this "I've never..." game with my OBS group mates and i mentioned that "i've never been out of asia before". So sua gu right? This is my chance to break out! i really cant wait to buy the tix!
2) Kinda Scholarship-related stuff The OBS photos are coming up! Lotsa photos for me to sieve through again... (tired!) But as mentioned in earlier posts, there was a briefing on17 Jul 09 and after that, some scholars (including myself) gathered for dinner. consider the photos a prelude to my OBS entry haha.
Overdue Photos dinner at Marche drinks at Gloria Jeans this is a posed photo but looks candid right? (v funny, i really like it) STIFF NECK STIFF NECK STIFF NECK STIFF NECK STIFF NECK STIFF NECK STIFF NECK STIFF NECK STIFF NECK (just wanna keep saying STIFF NECK when i see this pic!) and the rest of the sorta "get-to-know" session...
Let The Drum Beat Drop
Back from OBS (more update on the actual happenings when i get hold of the photos).
But a little on the low tide currently.
Looking back on some of my wishes for my 21st Birthday, i kinda didn't lived up to it :(
1) I need to take charge of my life much more than let pple/fate decide sometimes.
2) I need to believe in myself more, and worry less!
3) I should never allow anyone to make me feel less than what i am/what i can be.
That said, i think the five wishes i made this year are probably the best guide for how i should allow myself to feel and act.
In the last week before school really starts, i need to take a back seat to rest and reflect, and not worry about the future.
****************** on a totally different note**************** Did this Facebook quiz on: The Real Meaning of Your Star SignMine's Gemini (14th June) Reading:Keeps their business to themselves. Very kind, big personality. More acquaintances than friends. Treats friends like family. More of a thinker than a doer. Isn't shy but can be quiet at times if uncomfortable or thinking. Difficult to describe because their personality traits differ, they include aspects of all personality traits. Has very strange moments - in a good way. Makes a lot of jokes. Big laugh. Often extremely good looking. Mysterious, leaving people wanting more. Loves having a good time. Easily agitated (especially when something is on their mind). Is more used to short relationships because they can often be selfish, when they are in a long term relationship it tends to be off and on. Strong opinions. Denies their feelings.Almost 99% correct. except the "Often extremely good looking" part.
White Lilies Island
Trying to juggle between getting enough rest (it's NOT ENOUGH definitely) before OBS and meeting friends before school starts, somehow SUNDAY MORNING ended up to be the best time to meet both Monkey and Bee. haha.
Monkey was craving for Douhua (seriously) the whole week and so we decided to have breakfast together today morning at Woodlands. Sounds like a very FEI (useless) meeting (travelling all the way to Woodlands to eat Douhua haha) but meeting friends is never FEI haha.
 Jollibean Douhua Basically, also talk and catchup over douhua. haha. (and aunty jollibean, who say Douhua must be HOT? There is COLD douhua ok!) After douhua, we walked around and settled at KFC to continue our random talk. haha. Anyway, the main reason we met was to give Bee her belated birthday present :) which was a black handbag Monkey chose. I'm tired to blog further so photos now! haha photos very nice photo of me! (all thanks to monkey haha) monkey looking at monkey ghost (all thanks to me!!! hahaha) bee with us and the handbag present :) happy three friends hahaP.S: Not around next week due to OBS. Pray i return alive! hahaha... have fun!
Raise It Up
Met up with two of my "newer" friends yesterday - Eric (his name's too short to have a nickname, and if i wanted to give him one, it would be RECTANGLE, which would sound very weird lol) who i knew through Sci-camp last month (and made me laugh alot) and Genehow, a mutual friend of both Eric and Meng, who i met during my Pharm Camp.
Anyway, it was my first time meeting Eric after camp and well... not the first time i'm seeing Genehow since camp haha. We decided to eat at Dian Xiao Er, since i was nursing a cough and flu, since Chinese food felt less unhealthy (which on retrospect, is kinda a LOL theory). After which was deserts at Changing Appetites - Mudpies (i know, u eat chinese food to nurse my health and after that eat deserts??? ya... screwed i know haha). Basically, the whole meetup was mainly reminiscing about Camp stuff (aka bitching/laughing about some people =X haha) and Uni talk. haha. Climax was the small bag of "Mr Out-Of-Situation". Damn funny until i cried lol. photos for show: Dinner at Dian Xiao Er "6-course" meal God Helps Who? (*me pls! me! me!* LOL) genehow sorry no eric=X haha Mudpies at Changing Appetities what a bright smile haha supporting acts =X (i think they might kill me for self-declaring i'm the main lead) i look like i have stiff neck with eric! argh haha. the three of us :) P.S: i went to cut my hair and it's MUCH shorter than i expected (tho nobody feels the same! argh haha). But now, i'm happier than it's short, CHANGE my long-fringe look that's been gg on for some time. (thought nobody think it's a CHANGE too!!! sighs....)
You're Loveable, But You're Just Troubled
Short updates and random thoughts:
1) Wed Morning: Met Ter-weeds and some of his friends I seldom do mornings with friends (cause i love to go online in the morning!) but let's just say there was a friend in need! And no reason for me not to be there.
2) Wed Afternoon: Foot Massage :) I've been getting Foot Massage everyday this week (except fri) and it's a good thing cause i can recover faster (i think) and my parents should be very happy i'm taking the initiative to see them haha.
3) Wed Night: Supper with Yuk and Krys The MEAN SQUAD reunited for supper (after MULTIPLE calls to get hold of Krys to confirm the timing... argh!) haha. And yes, ANOTHER stayover. While, the mean squad does its best to humiliate each other with insults and sarcasm. If you think you have a VERY THICK SKIN, sign up now! hahaha.
4) Thurs Afternoon: Harry Potter with Zy and Sy Though i was roped in to just "ease proceedings", i still got to watch the film adaption of the 6th Harry Potter Book. My opinion: Good movie on it's own, but quite different from the book. Might not bode well with hardcore fans. But always a pleasure to see how the words come to live through the amazing animations.
5) Fri Whole Day: "Pre-departure" Briefing From 10am all the way to 6pm, it was briefing done by my scholarship department. More of information dissemination and experiential sharing by seniors. The thought of me as a scholar haven really sank in. haha. I just dont see i am one. haha.
6) Fri Dinner: Mini Scholars Get-to-know session. "Get to know" sounds familiar (nvm, it's my own stuff) hahah. Ate at Marche and then settled in at Gloria Jeans for drinks (i abstained!) . Pretty alright, everyone is generally nice.
And then...
a sudden hammer strucks VERY UNEXPECTEDLY and i'm down :( again. sighs.
Oh whatever la. Shall heck it and move on to happier stuff! Shall enjoy my last two days before OBS!
Sky's The Limit
I always look forward to meeting Meng, since i talk usually ALOT with him. haha. And since we didn't manage to meet last month, i have TONS to tell him when we met yesterday.
Strange thing though, was that last month (JUNE) was our birthday month. Our birthdays are 2 days apart (but u just need to know mine's on the 14th of JUNE! i accept super-belated gifts haha) only. And yet we didnt meet (plus i have a very happening schedule haha)
But we met yest, which was 14th July(7th month) 2009. Exactly 1 month from my 21st bdae. And 14 + 7 = 21. COOL. All the numbers point to an auspicious day to meet up haha. the only downer was i had cough and flu :(
Part 1: Dinner at HK Cafe
So we met yesterday night for dinner at a HK Cafe at Paradiz. And yups, we talked and talked and talked... Obviously after two camps, i have lots of interesting stories (even scary mean bitchy stories!) to tell him, along with the bizarre relevations (about friends) i discovered in the period we didnt meet.
With Meng, every time i can never finish one story before digressing into two or three other stories, and then i forget what i was trying to say in the first place. And tons of digressing but he always manage to get us back on track. haha.
And only with Meng, because i talk SO MUCH, i never am able to complete my meal. I didnt even manage to finish half of the cheesebaked whatever rice i ordered (it sucks big time anyway). The other times i didn't finish my carbonara or something and velvety mushroom soup (both sucks too). See, he wastes my money everytime on food i dont even eat haha.
Part 2: Deserts at BugisAfter the dinner, we walked to Bugis to eat deserts at the famous deserts shop there. And there we exchanged our Birthday Presents!!! :) haha. He showed me his gift to me first and it was a NIKE LAPTOP BAG :) haha dirty green laptop bag Very coincidentally before i even bought any my gifts for him and was still looking around for his, this laptop gift was VERY HIGH on my "consideration of gifts for Meng" list. But i decided against it since it was $34 plus. Over budget hahaha... (nvm, we are very frank to each other, plus he knows the EXACT price of my gift LOL! how he found out was pretty funny too)
ANYWAY, MY TURN.
AND I REALLY LIKE MY GIFT TO MENG!!! haha.
this is it ***description of my gift to him***
Ok there's actually two parts to my present. And I already started to look for his present since we last met cause it's not like i have alot of time to shop. (trying to sound happening here ha)
And i first bought this Club Marc belt for him. Club Marc is well, kinda branded, and i know Meng does wear belt so i probably couldn't go very wrong. My taste is never too bad anyways haha (read: some boasting here haha)
But still i felt was abit too cheap (if u know the sale Club Marc is having on now, u should roughly know how much the belt is haha) and we both unanimously agreed the budget to be around $30. We are so materialistic right? haha... we just want to receive expensive presents to make ourselves happy. haha.
Therefore, i needed to buy ANOTHER gift for him. And after looking for quite long, i settled for a THUMBDRIVE to give him as the second-parter of his bdae present. But i only gotten it on last sun after my class outing due to time constraints on my part.
But the special thing was... in the afternoon before i met him, i thought of a pretty special idea to make my present to him more MEANINGFUL :) haha. (Anyway i digress: i'm been going for foot massages the past few days this week in hopes of recovering faster from my flu/cough. and that day i just finished my foot massage and was lying on my bed about to sleep when i thought of the idea la. the WONDERS of foot massage haha)
Anyway, on previous occasions, i've heard about how it's very hard for him to get the songs he wants online. And since BMT, i already know he's a fan of ENGLISH OLDIES MUSIC. Like REALLY REALLY OLDIES. So understandably, he has not been very successful in getting the songs he want.
So i quickly messaged him and ask him for some songs which he has been dying to get his hands on. And thankfully he managed to come up with quite a few songs (ard 20?) which includes:
* Paul Davis - I Go Crazy * Dennis Deyoung - Desert Moon * SWV - Weak * Tevin Campbell - I'm Ready * and any songs from The Stylistics
Go ahead and call me WEIRD for listening to my swedish artistes. But PLEASE CALL MENG PREHISTORIC. His songs, very obviously, are older then old.
So there i go, on my mission, Project PREHISTORIC SONGS FOR MENG. And i seriously dont understand how Meng can't find his songs haha (taking this opportunity to "suan" him as much as i can)
You're talking about me, the self-proclaimed "music guru" (haha, this self-term does indeed sound very stupid), who ACTUALLY managed to get his SUPER OBSCURE swedish songs. So what more established singers (though they were popular in a much different era)? A few hiccups in finding some songs, but generally VERY EASY, considering the sources i have :)
But that was not all, i decided to give him ALOT MORE OF MY OWN SONGS for his own musical indulgence. I'm always promoting my own (swedish or not) songs. haha. The job of a "music guru" is not easy ok! hahaha.
Obviously Meng didn't know my intentions for asking him about his oldie songs (though he kep asking), and certainly i wont spoil my own little surprise. And i had to bluff abit here and there to acheive my mission. Though i think he kinda know what to expect but as to what EXACTLY, maybe not. haha
*********************************** Coming back, (i think) he quite liked the belt i gave. Rmb when i said i couldn't go wrong with a Belt? ha. And as for the THUMBDRIVE of songs? I'm sure he liked it. haha. After all, he could only really see the "value" of the present when he got home and checked out the thumbdrive. And i received this message from him today when i woke up: "Wah you gave me so many songs Thankx! U got me excited abt music again haha. it was a drought of songs before this. Thankx!"(hope Meng doesn't mind the quote haha)That made me REALLY happy haha. Part 3: Shopping and Back
After the deserts-cum-gift reveal session, we went to do some shopping since Meng needed to get a birthday gift for his friend. Along the way, more talking and as usual, some "harmless" info he conveniently miss out in telling me. haha. We then walked past Raffles City / City Hall to Esplanade where we took bus home. It was a great night of talk but i dont feel we talked enough! hahaha. (did i mention we finally have NEW mutual friends? haha Not that it matters, but we definitely don't need to talk about Colonel Kiwi now haha)
Set My Heart On Fire
* too much fastfood the past week = sore throat, running nose, heaty all over! hopefully i get to rest more next week... (there's so little time before school starts to meet everyone!)
* little update 1: met Ter-weeds and BBQ yesterday evening for dinner :), was great to see my regular friends after meeting tons of new friends everyday at camps haha. updated and caught up with each other's lives the past two weeks...
* little update 2: met up with some jc classmates to "welcome" Hern back from aus. But was damn boring...
and now,
the Pharm Camp OG Outing on Friday
After one week of "quarantine", my Pharm Camp OG decided to meet up on friday. In the late morning, we decided to help out with rag stuff. But honestly, we didn't really help much. We had to cut soft drink cans but there weren't many cans to cut haha. So by 1pm plus, we set off for lunch at the arts faculty canteen, part of the uni "exploration" process haha. Then we promptly set off to watch ice age 3 at the cathay. en route there duos trios quartets Ice age 3 is seriously the first movie i slept while watching at the cinema! It's very lame and there weren't any significant storyline enough to hold the plot together. Just random lame stuff all over. What a waste of money haha. OG photo before some left After 5 of them left (after the movie), the rest of us decided to feast on dim sum at Sunshine Plaza. I've actually been to that dim sum stall before (with evon!) and i didn't even know which shop they were talking about the whole time haha. For an OG who doesn't really talk during mealtimes in camp, we talked "ALOT" considerably. Probably due to the smaller "more similar frequency" group and absence of seniors (seniors talk usually led to academic talk. argh... haha). Lame jokes (esp abt the 100% HK Tea haha.) really lightened up the whole dinner affair, kinda broke the ice for the group... FINALLY. haha. more photos unglam candid shot -_- if you notice my hair was really bad! (i felt really about to fall sick so it was like HECK! haha) bao today (bao jing tian) and the commoner's fave lingo: "一人一半,感情不散!"awwww...... Was pretty alright for the first OG outing haha. Wonder if there'll be another? haha
On My Messages
Hern returned from Australia! Haven't seen him since he left for his studies at Australia, so thankfully i booked him for the WHOLE DAY on Thursday. (Since he's back for awhile only, obviously he's fully booked by friends who are all dying to meet him - including me!)
The meetup was really fun and pretty spontaneous! haha. It was already great being able to see this good friend of mine, then to have so many fun and laughter with him was even better. Spent quite a bit on Thursday but seriously it was all worth it for Hern :) haha.
Lunch at Carls' Junior
 Basically, we did things he doesn't get the chance to when he's in Australia (apparently it's very boring he says). And that includes eating Carls' Junior haha. If you see the picture clearly, my straw is LONGER :) With Hern, we have this fictitious rivalry going on haha. Either we compete to see who is more popular or better at a particular skill. a "tradition" since college days. AND I ALWAYS TRY TO WIN (operative word: try) Lame, i know, but very funny... We updated each other, then proceeded to provide each other with exciting news about others (read: gossip haha). Let's just say there were things i NEVER knew. haha. Bowling at Superbowl After that we proceeded to Superbowl (within Marina Square still) to play bowling against each other. Told you we are RIVALS! haha. Hern's a Singapore Fan so "played for" SINGAPORE (SIN). And me? SWEDEN (SWE)! :))) SIN versus SWE LET THE BATTLE BEGIN! Round 1: SWE WINS! (SWE 95, SIN 79) Round 2: SWE WINS AGAIN! (SWE: 107, SIN 97) Haha. Technically I WON already :) haha. I managed to get like four strikes within the two rounds which was very good considering i always aim to get at least one strike in one entire bowling session. haha. But i convinced Hern to play another round since he lost terribly hahaha. (ok not terribly la, the scores were pretty close haha) Round 3: SIN WON! (SWE: 71, SIN 122) OMG i got thrashed! haha My worst performance and the worst individual score for that day at 71! And Hern won by such a huge margin... Highest individual score for that day too at 122! I would like to attribute this poor showing (the anomaly's very obvious right??? 95, 107 and 71? ha) to my tired hands which played badminton yesterday with my Pharm Friends but i'm sure Hern won't allow it! Well it's all fair then. I won 2 out of 3 games and Hern had the best score that day. FAIR AND SQUARE. haha.
***more photos taken there***
 cock-eyed! (haha i took the photo and it turned out like that. super hilarious)
 posing with my CHAMPION ball haha
 bowling breasts haha.
Singapore River Cruise Yes, you didn't read wrong! Since Shihern hasn't been feeling the Singapore Spirit these few months, we decided to take this river cruise which both of us have not sat on since childhood days :))) Very tourist-sy right? haha camwhoring before the ride having fun with dear merlion on the boat! camwhoring on the boat i look gd :) (i can imagine Hern saying he's a GREAT photographer) i look abit weird haha. a very excited tourist a tourist with serious mood-swing haha though we took the 30 mins ride, it feel pretty long! haha. all the camwhoring made the 13 dollars ride so worth it. haha. Dinner at AshtonsAfter the ride, we settled for dinner at Ashtons, City Hall Br (a very spontaneous decision too haha). basically it was more talking Deserts at Skinny PizzaAs we were heading back, Hern saw this spanish donuts which he was craving for. so the last stop in that very long day. the spanish donuts were nice :) (well baked, choc fondue was just nice - not too sweet i thought) I was having a bad sore throat by then! :((( haha. So Hern ate most of it while i slacked and drank LOTSA water. As you can see it was a very long day. All reserved for me :) haha. And i'm so glad we did so much and so much interesting stuff rights? (I'm getting more creative with my outings hor - lol i wish.) I'm sure Hern enjoyed it as much as i did haha. So anyway, WELCOME BACK HERN! (for now) Well, hopefully i can get to see Hern once/twice before he leaves again. haha. (Heard: mini mini mini class outing planned by yours truly for Hern!)
Another Shape Of My Heart
A brief updates of stuff that has been going on with me lately:
1) Sat: Dinner-Cum-Supper with Krys Krys is always the first person i meet after camp haha. (yes, she made me break out of home!)
taken after my Sci-camp (i look tan right??? hahaha)
2) Mon: KBox with "Snrs"& Zy a reason to go out, a chance to socialise.
3) Tues: Transformers Movie Outing with Bee/YY/Cl Kinda like the action in Transformers though the story was abit predictable.
4) Tues Night: Emo Dinner-Cum-Supper with Krys The EMO-est session we both had. but it was good to have my dearest friend around, though we were REALLY MEAN to each other! hahaha.
  she'll kill me for these unflattering pics. 5) Wed: Badminton with Pharm friends obviously i'm not inclined at any kind of sports, but it was a great chance to get some work-out and know my Pharm friends.
6) Thurs: Hern Homecoming (see next entry)
7) Fri: Pharm OG Outing (will blog about it soon)
some random thoughts: * camp was fun, a break out of the shell for myself - i thought i would be really cynical to play all those stupid games but in the spirit of spontaneity, it was all good :)
* the recent buzz of meeting new friends at camps etc can be pretty exciting but still intimidating. after all, i'm sure i'm not a very sociable/talkable person.
* let's just say there were expectations, and thus, there were disappointments and some frustrations. sighs... emo-ness.
* school i starting so very soon. very scary...

Silly Really: Pharm Camp 2009
*SO MANY PHOTOS FOR THIS CAMP i can die trying to consolidate all the pics before i choose the best to show on my blog. after a while, i just gave up. THERE ARE ENDLESS PHOTOS I SWEAR.
PHARM CAMP 2009
my OG Shimazu
the people i spent my mon-wed with
DAY 1
after last week's camp, introduction became EASIER (not easy i stress haha) plus i realise i kinda know enough people alr before this camp which intimidates me MUCH LESS haha. First there's Maxim which i alr know through army, then his friend, then my AJ friends, then friends of friends and the list goes on. haha.
But most coincidental was that Genehow and ZY who are friends of Meng and Darryl T(from last week's Sci-Camp) respectively both ended up being in the same group as me. haha.
the usual intro and cheers (i look damn enthu!)
shortly after, the first main prog started - AMAZING RACE (again)!
we had to travel to different places doing stupid stuff like:
waving to strangers and getting them to wave back (this shoots right up my list of most embarrassing moments!)
it was pretty alright for a first day. the group was pretty quiet at first (as usual) but warmed up abit towards the end of the day. I didnt had the "regret" thought of joining this camp tho. as i said, there were people i know so it made it less stressful. ha
DAY 2
It was a day full of games AND IT WAS ALOT OF FUN! Cos our group won quite alot! hahaha... Quite a stark contrast to last week's camp haha. but the thing was my group was very "nua" generally. but during games, we were like very enthusiastic. which is good. haha.
we are all winners! haha
~~~~ok time for me to show really gross pics of myself. ~~~~
there's this shaving cream game where we have to pass cream from one end to the other using out faces. it goes like this (a pic without me first):
a pretty clean picture.
BUT ADD ME & MY OG GUYS....
OMG!
IT LOOKS REALLY PASSIONATE HUH!!!! (i assure i'm totally straight and we were totally not kissing on the lips!)
still winners
hair full of shampoo after a particular game. BAD HAIR DAY sia!!! haha
the games were pretty damn fun and winning was a morale booster, especially this sit-on-the-butt captain's ball game where our group TOTALLY OWNED the other group! OWNAGE IS SWEET :)
the dream team, as they call it
me in action, can u believe it? haha
DAY 3
- not the supposed final day but ended up being FINAL DAY - (yups, because of H1N1....)
first there was this round of game, which is just a blatant coverup for the seniors to bully the juniors haha.
u see why?
those caught were "thrown into prison" and had disgusting pukey stuff poured on their bodies. i was caught twice. DAMN!
if not we had to continue to do stupid stuff like:
writing with our butts (this is a much toned-down pic haha)
in the afternoon, it was war games aka people throwing water bombs at each other for no apparent rhyme or reason. haha.
the earthly team.
well.. that was it before we headed back to our chalet.
after which, we were given the shocking news about H1N1 infection and were sent home shortly. still these three days were real fun as well. i so miss all the fun!!! haha
in a way, the prospect of school starting (other than the studying part) is pretty exciting.
we'll see how it goes!
P.S: i'm sure i left out a thousand lot of happenings during the camp lol!
Are You Ready: Sci-Camp 2009
SCI-CAMP
My OG Flag
After so long, it was back to orientations like before. Of course, this Sci-camp kickstarted my university socialisation haha.
While there's alot of pics to show so i shall comment as the pics go
DAY 1
i'm the only one not looking at the camera!
Obviously Day 1 was introductions aplenty, awkward silences and tons of ice-breaking. and oh yeah, SICK/STUPID GAMES. haha
yes, i was in a stocking! (happy, meng? haha)
honestly speaking after the first day, i kinda regretted joining cause i felt so bored. there was hardly anyone to talk/gossip with and the games didn't really make the group really excited, much less bonded. but i guess in the end it was pretty fine :)
DAY 2
Day 2 was amazing race around Singapore, where each station was a fave food shop. nice :) if only we had more time to slack and enjoy the food haha
the end point was a chalet at Changi.
if u think it was rest. NO WAY. (through out the 4 nights, there were v little time to sleep. tho i slept REALLY well! haha)
Another round of games starting at midnight which lasted (for our grp) all the way til 4plus am. everyone was tired and yet we still had to keep playing stupid games like RECTANGLE and MAGNIFY! will certainly count towards most irritating moment IN MY LIFE! haha.
(only eric would know how irritating it was! haha... he can renact the scenes v well! ha )
DAY 3
Day 3 was back to campus again. this time for WATER GAMES!
it was pretty exciting since we won SLIGHTLY more games. Eric and i were always complaining about our group's LOSING STREAK. haha.
DAY 4
Back to Sunny Sentosa :)
haha no nipplegate as promised!
as usual, lots of dirty/scandalous games! (yes, THAT IS MY BUTT)
alot of suntanning (i'm peeling alot on my back!) but also alot of fun.
Guess what happens right after this?
CLUBBING! (ok there was SP night first but there's nth i wanna say abt it since there's nth really good i wan to mention abt it, and nth i wan to mention about my Scamp SP haha. =X)
have been dying to go for this little thrill ride for a while and i finally get a chance to get wild i'm a VERY NICE guy but i still need a night of devillish fun :) haha (tho it's not really considered really wild. it's just us campers lol)
me in my "clubbing attire" haha (NICE? haha)
Clubbing as anticipated, was a hell lot of fun. Great high-ish music really just rocked the whole night. Plus i got to gossip abit with Jann haha =X
After clubbing our OG settled for supper before returning.
DAY 5 -FINAL DAY-
Mainly phototaking (though it still drove Eric and me crazy due to the LONG WAIT)
and there you go!
My Sci-Camp Experience 2009.
Looking back, it was lotsa fun! i miss all the fun seriously... haha
Must Be Paranoid
BACK FROM PHARM CAMP!
But here comes the twist:
I'm on SELF-QUARANTINE for 7DAYS!
Technically camp should end tonight, but there was well, the surprise bomb that someone in the camp was infected with the H1N1 virus. So camp ended abruptly yest night and i'm responsible to quarantine myself from the rest of the world for the next 7 days.
Which totally sucks since: 1) i wanted to go out and enjoy usual life after almost two weeks of camp, 2) my personal laptop has for god-knows-what reason crashed all of a sudden, making me very very paranoid for my tons of swedish songs, and of course about how i'm going to spend the next seven days without any form of entertainment (i snatched my bro's lappy to use, lol) and 3) i am unable to meet dear friends since i have interesting stories from camp to share haha.
As for Pharm Camp, it was just as fun as my group won much more challenges than in Science Camp =X. A different form of "fun" though - trying not to make comparisons, it's kinda unfair right? haha.
Anyway, i will update about the camps soon. I'm sure i have all the time in the world to do so haha. The only thing stopping me is that i prefer to blog on my own laptop (my bro's lappy suck) which at present, is still "under repair" by my parents' friend. Progress? I have not a single clue. God pls help!
P.S: I will take extreme care and monitor my own health very closely these 7 days! All the best to me and my laptop!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
