Thursday, July 10, 2008  After a whirlwind rollercoaster time in Manpower Branch for almost the past two years, Manpower's very own and very unique Miss Jennifer is finally leaving. This time, for real, and for her own good i believe. She has been an integral part of our Branch and it would certainly do her no justice if i don't mention about her. There are certain things i wouldn't say through office email since work is ultimately still work. But my blog is different, i can REALLY say what i want to say. Miss Jennifer - and soon to be just "Jennifer" - has been a big part of my experience in my Branch. From the very first day i entered, i still remember that she was the FIRST person to show any form of unconditional "nice-ness" to me, telling me to find a seat while filling up the personal particulars form. She was the one who talked to me when we boarded the same bus on my first day back after work at this new unit and made me feel less anxious and happier at least i've found someone talk-able on the first day. Then, the moment all the fun (with me involved) began. On one afternoon, she was blocking the entrance to my now cubicle and an ex-colleague (who has ORDed) and the colleague (Anand) wanted to enter and she didn't want to let him until he said "THE TWO WORDS". (supposedly, "excuse me" la...) Then i quickly suggested "GO AWAY" instead and i guessed at that moment, everyone laughed. And from that point on, my sarcasm never stopped. And so did the laughter. Almost everyday with her in office is a day of jokes. She's loud, she's random, she's noisy, she's clumsy and she's maybe even a little annoying at times. But I think we all love everything that is wrong about her. She's loud but she's THE voice of our branch. She's random but that means we are in for surprises - which is a big plus when we lead boring lives. She's noisy but it enlivens the spirit of the office. She's annoying but it just goes to show how much she cares. We all know Miss Jennifer is a person with a BIG (sometimes TOO BIG) a heart. She'll go all out to help, all out to make us happy. For me in particular, she's always been very nice to me, buying food for me when i have no time to go for breaks (or forcing me to eat when i don't have the appetite but have yet to eat anything also), helping me in some simple work stuff and listening to my grumbles when i don't feel so good. I'm sure we'll still be friends after she leaves our office cause she likes to meet up with friends, and with us for KBOX especially. But we'll definitely miss all the laughter she brought to the office. As a recap, i've compiled a list of top 5 Miss Jennifer Signature for our "insider" laughs. Top 5 totally Jen trademarks 1) "Whatever!" 2) the Merlion act 3) LL! 4) the grossy 你一口我一口 5) stupid questions like "Seoul Garden from Korea meh"/"澳洲 is what country?" On a side note, i feel very bad for being quite unappreciative of her extravagant nice-ness to us boys. There are times when i am stressed up with work and might have brushed her away or vent my frustrations on her here and there subconsciously. But i think she's a very nice and forgiving person (forgive and forget what right!?) to us (and me). She will definitely be a legacy story to be passed down (whether good or bad hahaha) but you can guarantee she's never be forgotten!
