Certainly a memorable trip! Seeing the jewels of the jungle, Angkor Wat at Siem Reap, with my mum and brother was a step into an ancient world, how interesting :) Then I made my way to the capital of Cambodia, Phnom Penh myself, the first time i was all alone in a foreign land, with no one to turn to! And I survived, obviously haha. Then it was my return to Bangkok! It was the best of times, especially having the chance to talk to my thai friends and even be part of their commencement :) nothing can take these memories away from us.Wednesday, July 4, 2012 24th June Sunday - Siem Reap Reach guesthouse and settle down Went for buffet cum traditional aspara dance performance Walked around night market and pub street Tuktuk ride back to guesthouse 25th June Monday - Siem Reap Breakfast at guesthouse Walked along streets of Siem Reap briefly Car ride to Beng Melea Explore Beng Melea Visited "killing field/area" at a monastery Shopping at Old Market Went back to guesthouse to rest Walk to Pub Street/ Old Market area Dinner at Shadow of Angkor (thanks to Gav's recommendations!) Back to guesthouse 26th June Tuesday - Siem Reap Visited the following places: 1) South Gate of Angkor Thom 2) Bayon 3) Baphuon 4) Phimeanakas 5) Terra of the Elephants & Leper King 6) Chau Say 7) Tevoda 8) Thommanon 9) Ta Keo (After Lunch) 10) Ta Phrom 11) Angkor Wat 12) Sunset at Phnom Backeng (too cloudy to see anything :/) Rest & Dinner at guesthouse (as it was raining) 27th June Wednesday - Siem Reap Sunrise at Angkor Wat (beautiful reflection shot!) Visited the following places: 1) Preah Khan 2) Neak Pean 3) Ta Som 4) East Mebon 5) Banteay Samrei (After Lunch) 6) Banteay Srey 7) Reached Banteay Kdei but stuck in heavy rain before we could enter the temple! :( Return to guesthouse Dinner at Viva Mexico Restaurant (orange building v pretty :D) 28th June Thursday - Siem Reap to Phnom Penh Light breakfast before chilling in room Early lunch before departing Checked out, took minibus to bus station Bus to Phnom Penh (1247 to 730pm!) Met 3 cambodian girls (same age, studying at a technical sch for medical care - they were so friendly to talk and treat me to snacks :D) Reached Phnom Penh Tuktuk to Harvest Inn Talking to Inn staff Dinner/wifi at inn (walked into wrong house for internet! haha) 29th June Friday - Phnom Penh to Bangkok Breakfast at inn Wait for driver -_- Visited Tuol Sleng Genocide Museum (gave me the cold sweat seriously!) Visited Royal Palace, Silver Pagoda with guide Walked about Central Market Tuktuk ride past riverfront Lunch at local cambodian restaurant! (not served, language barrier, beef not well-cooked!) Checked out and tuktuk to airport Flight to Bangkok Express train to Siam Met OR and Toey (new thai friend!) Thai dinner at restaurant Find my own way to hostel 30th June Saturday - Bangkok BTS to Saphan Thaksin Met nice random thai Daew and friend who helped me with the ferry! Ferry to Grand Palace Walked around Grand Palace (so beautiful!) Wait for ferry to Wat Arun - waited so long! :'( Walked around Wat Arun Tuktuk to National Stadium area Lunch at MBK BTS to Mo Chit, walked to Chaktuchak market Shopping! (1pm to 3+pm) Wait/difficulty finding Nini! But finally met her after 30mins :) Shopped again at Chaktuchak market Ferry to Asiatique (w OR, Toey, Nini) Taxi/BTS back to hostel 1st July Sunday - Bangkok Woke up early to wrote cards for Or/Nini Meet Nini and Or at Asok/Terminal 21 for brunch BTS to Phaya Thai stn/taxi Saw Wat Ra-something something temple :X Walked around Khao San Road Break from the heat - had Mcflurry Saw bridge Shopped at Siam Square Went back hostel to bathe Dinner at Chabuton at Siam Drinks/Cake at Asia Hotel with Nini, Or, Toey and First (new thai friend!) Back to Hostel 2nd July Monday - Bangkok to Singapore Breakfast at Macs BTS, walk to Mahidol University, Faculty of Pharmacy Take pictures with Nini, OR, First, Napa, Aon (another new thai friend! :D) Aon drove me to Phaya Thai airport train stn Train to airport/Checked in Lunch at Airport!
