A year of significant changes as i predicted, though not necessarily the way i expect. This year's title "Just Can't Throw Us Away" represents the importance of the friendships in my life despite probably all the things going on in my own life. Trying to find a balance for everything was quite a challenge this year but i think i managed fine and got to know and spend quality time with all my good friends. "US" is what made us friends, so i certainly just can't throw US away :) My thank yous to the most important friends in 2009: (consider this my X'mas gifts for you all haha) 1. Ter-weeds  high time! One of the best things to come out of Army was this good friend of mine. Once my lunch buddy, he is now my hangout buddy and one of the most important people who helped me get through the toughest period while adjusting to university (i might need your help for the next semester once i return! haha), despite himself being in quite of a rough patch himself. So thanks my friend, it's always great to meet and chat with you. Haven't forgiven you for Ninja Assasin though! 2. Meng  this photo is like v reflective of us haha ALSO one of the best things to come out of Army is Meng, who i've on countless times mentioned how he's seen the worst and most embarassing moments in my life. Now, thankfully he ONLY gets to hear it from me when we meet (unless it's on facebook! haha). One of the best friends to talk to, i can count on him to vent my frustrations, especially since we're on the same "bitching" frequency haha. Now, if only i can finish my food everytime i meet him for dinner... haha 3. Genehow  gene smiling! that's rare... haha Finally meeting Mr Geenhow after hearing about him from Meng and friends for many times, i must say Genehow is exactly how his friends describe him. Calm, collected, warms up pretty slow (what he terms "man re") with a streak of bitchiness too. haha. I must thank Genehow for being a very helpful friend and schoolmate, helping me print all my notes and schoolwork and even accompanying me to join Radio (he opted out in the end tho). Without him, i will have so much more stuff to worry about! haha 4. Bee and Monkey  Cool, Pleasant and Fun (CPF) haha I saw this when i was scanning through earlier entries and i thought life is really random: "Well, i met up the little group consisting of Ms Miao Miao, Mr Koh, KL, Wad-U-Doin', Chunli, Siny, and Siny's two other friends which i've met briefly at CPF before, Bee Bee and Monkey (also not their real names haha)" Two colleagues i didn't even work with end up being better friends that the people i work with at the call centre! How interesting fate works out to be sometimes. With these two, it's always the simplest stuff but still fun and enjoyable. Whether just a Douhua breakfast or a dinner at KFC, it really just goes to show when you're with the right friends, it doesn't matter what you do at all. 5. Yuk This little miss Yuky is out to "insult" me. But sweet thanks to her for throwing me a surprise and being a listening ear when i need it. 6. Hern  "my straw must be higher!" (me) We have such a blast whenever we met this year which makes me really glad that our friendship has lasted since college. Love catching up with him, especially since we don't get to see each other as often as i do with my other friends. 7. Halodin (Siti, Suf...), AMK GANG! (ZL, Reu, Edr) & Other Schoolmates (Ben, Eric...)   School can be pretty tough to take sometimes, but with them, life gets by so much more easier. Halo: I had an amazing time at FOW and i'm very happy we're still "connected" in a way haha... Sch would've been better if suf didnt leave tho! (and Siti, u should be proud u created IMO the best FOW OG! haha) Amk Gang: Bus rides with them make me forget how torturous the rides are! But beyond that, a great bunch of friends to hang out with :) Looks like another sem with them since i didnt get hostel! 9. Fellow Scholars (the pharm gals, yv...)  I remember talking to yvonne (thanks yv!) even before i got the scholarship and four months down, i'm a full-fledged scholar who has started school and has no idea how he managed to get the scholarship in the first place haha. Going for all the rehearsals could be a pain (god so many!) but the final performance was great. And oh... the kayak experience (during OBS Scholar camp) was unforgettable too! pharm gals (xj, sw, hy and yl): thanks for always keeping me updated abt scholarship stuff! ha 10. Colleagues    HQ: everytime we meet, i rmb the good times we had last year :) CPF: i'm very glad i met so many friends there :) KL: it was tough adjusting there after CPF but knowing them better made it easier :) (that's 3 smilies haha) Shorter thanks:  Fengie/Gracie/Kenny (special thanks for the PCD tix!) Hey guys blogging in USA right now :)Friday, December 11, 2009 Just reached here yesterday night San Francisco time, which is like 16 hours behind Singapore time. Yeah, i know, i'm gonna be so jet-lagged when i come back. A lot of first for me in the first 24 hours: 1) First time travelling alone (on the airplane) 2) First time travelling so far (it was like some ten thousand miles?) 3) First time travelling so long! (the journey journey was like almost 20 hours) 4) First time in the USA! The whole journey was actually much easier than expected. I mean i usually coop myself in my own room the whole day if i'm not going out haha. While, will fill you up with the details when i'm back. Since i've arrived i've already done groceries shopping with Krys, went out with her friends (she's still having exams until today so her friends were nice enough to bring me out) and of all things, eat chinese food in the USA haha. But it's been interesting.  abit pale i know (VERY thristy and just woke up) AND IT"S FRIGGIN' COLD. I'm always with at least 3 layers and Krys' room wall is really thin (and it's ex to turn on the heater) so it can get pretty cold at times. Worse when we're out but still manageable :) I love being able to wear jackets too :) hahah... People keep telling me i'm always in jacket when i'm in school and i say i love keeping warm. Now i REALLY GET THE CHANCE to wear my jackets all day long ha. And i'm super jet-lagged. The stupid friend of mine is studying for her exams and i have to be awake with her (during SF's night time - Sg's early afternoon). When i can finally sleep, it's morning or prime time (7-12pm) in singapore so i'm wide awake haha. For the whole 3am-7am (SF's time) today, i was wide awake catching up on my shows - The Hills and The City!!! (love them, everyone should watch it la.) I just woke up after a deep sleep since Krys is out for exams and i get the whole bed to myself :) haha. Things should start kicking in tml onwards since Krys' exams are over and i'll finally get the "party" i want in the USA :) haha... Update again soon! music.city.soul || 7:57 AM || 0 comments

Amy Diamond - It's My LifeHooked on the song since May, this is the catchiest song of the year. I could just go "IT'S MY LIFE!!!!!!" any moment and it's all Amy's fault. It's commercial, it's manufactured pop (even kiddy), but it's damn bloody nice. SO WHO CARES. It's my life!     2. Johan Palm - Emma-Lee This song never fails to lighten me up. Absolutely lovely & cheerful song. 3. Bertolf - Another Day A very positive song with a very positive and useful message: Don't wait for tomorrow, believe in yourself and do it TODAY. 4. Ilse Delange - Puzzle Me Absolutely love how Ilse describes love as a jigsaw puzzle. A lyrical delight. 5.
