It's JUNE already! Time passes too fast seriously.Monday, May 31, 2010 A lookback on the past few days: 1) Sat Dinner with ZL and Jh Met up once again to do some important shopping (haha :X) and have dinner together while spilling MORE details about my now "UN-surprising" surprise haha :) happy to hear these friends are doing something nice for my bdae. 2) Sun "Games Day" with P.girls and Genehow A day out with these other pharm friends to gather and play games and have some fun together outside school :) while erm... in another school haha. Playing old school games like snakes and ladders (omg! keep bumping each other off!), daidee (king, queens and A**holes! :X), donkey (i seriously cannot play donkey cause i keep laughing!) AND monopoly (they kept bullying me!!!).       I'm going to HK! haha... I FINALLY get what i wanted MOST this hols - TO TRAVEL! :) For that two days, Terr and i "scrambled" to find the best freeNeasy package as well as the last person to join us on the trip! Another busy week, of meetups, suppers and a camp.Saturday, May 29, 2010 1) Tues Lunch with mini-AMK gang (ZL, JH, and Reu) Visited JH at Toa Payoh where she's doing her preceptorship and had lunch with her and the guys. Waiting for Drei to be back! I want a complete uncle reunion :) haha 2) Tues Supper with Yuk   Amazing idea by yours truly to have Ba Chor Mee. More than i love suppers, i love suppers with friends :) 3) Test Run Camp (2D1N)   Camp was pretty alright, a chance for me to know more people in pharm (i read "your networth is your network"! lol). Something different this hols other than going out haha. Was in the same group as fellow AMK-gang Reu so i spent most of the time talking to him also hahaha. 4) Fri TGIV with Meng and Genehow Yay "Thanks Guanyinma it's Vesak Day" (HAHA) so we three had a chance to meet up :) Had dinner at Warako (stupid meng and his disgusting cockles... urgh) and McFlurries at Macdonalds, followed by a scarrry phone inspection session. Decided to postpone my job search for an indefinite period HAHASunday, May 23, 2010 Esp since i'll be busy these two weeks :) i love being busy (other than busy studying ha)! 1) Tues Lunch with Bee That was before i gave up the job search and met up with Bee at Suntec for lunch (delicious drumsticks at BK haha) since we had job interviews at the same place. Bee is the best jobsearch buddy :) haha, she keep giving me the links to potential jobs whenever i felt like giving up! 2) Wed Radio-meeting My first time attending the meeting as a official member of the committee. Went alright :) When i was typing out the meeting a few days ago, how i wished i have that drive i had when i was in service and a busy clerk :) haha 3) Thurs with Mom Spent a whole afternoon accompanying my mother for the first time in a long time :X haha, visited my grandmother's and played with my cousin's son (omg, that makes me an UNCLE offically haha) who's really adorable. AND i finaly managed to get rid of my useless and heavy handphone thanks to my mom. haha 4) Fri Afternoon with Ter I had many things in mind that i had to get: a watch (i've been watch-less since forever haha), and a present for Ms Yv's birthday but i was pretty tired after my morning swim. haha. But it was good to always hang out with Ter. 5) Fri Dinner with SF, Ken and Grace   Reunited with the power of three after so long. Catching up with each other at Ajisen Ramen (at Bishan) and walked around as usual haha. 6) Sat Shoe Shopping with ZL and JH SO GLAD i called them out on an otherwise free saturday :) Since Reu was busy, and Drei was out of singapore, it was down to the three of us. We always seem to have an LOL time (Chocolate Kek anyone ??? haha) together haha... Although we were pretty full after our pretty good dinner at Just Acia, we still went for tauhuay outing :) haha and managed to come up with an amazing IDEA. Hope it "fruitalise"! PLS! haha 7) Sun HQ Gathering for Ms Yv's Birthday Meet up with my HQ family for ex-boss' birthday which was planned long ago. Thanks to JH's recommendation, i bought a "pleasure pack" of facemask for Ms Yv which was actually something she liked :) haha. We eat at a Korean restaurant and had a quite a nice meal. It's been a great past week, turns out me "losing" my job was the best thing that happened. After last week's meetup with my pharm friends, i finally got to meet my good friends outside pharm :)Tuesday, May 18, 2010 1) Fri Lunch Catchup + Robin Hood with Yuk Turns out we don't need a third "codon" after all! since Yuk has declared it to be "degenerate" :) How apt. We caught up on most stuff that's happening with us and caught the movie Robin Hood (which i believed i told eljx that it's like a lame movie haha). But the movie turned out pretty good, though Yuk and i were just laughing at why Cate Blanchett's role can drown in such shallow water. 2) Fri Dinner Catchup with Meng I got ANOTHER new pair of shoes, all thanks to Meng who (on a retail therapy mood) influenced me to buy something. Not complaining though cause i really think my new pair of canvas shoes which costs only $25 is such a great buy. While as usual, catching up with Meng with everything in life and music (other than "Florence and the Machine" i suppose haha) :) 3) Sat Hotties Reunion

It's definitely difficult to strike a balance between airing my personal stuff in the open and sharing what i feel to anyone who reads this haha. I'm keeping things cryptic to avoid having to explain THE WHOLE STORY here. You'll know if you're meant to know :)Thursday, May 13, 2010 Anyway, just wanted to say if something doesn't work out, i always believe something else will. Well, before something else works out, still basking in the mood of meetups: 1) Iron Man 2 Finally got to watch a movie i wanted to watch for the action (Greenzone and Backup Plan don't count haha). Though the movie was abit of a disappointment (a case of all action, no "substance" talk), my movie partners (eljx and genehow) more than made up for it. I still LOVE how eljx explained that Ivan Vanko died so easily because the production team wanted to save money on the expensive "Bzz bzzz" sound. 2) Nurul's Exchange Farewell
Well, fate likes to plays a trick on poor me. The SECOND person i'm sending off for summer exchange is Nurul. A chance for me to catch up with the (sex)craziest people i know from school who are exceedingly funny and unpolitically correct!

Saturday, May 8, 2010 Really glad that exams are finally over, now i can meet my friends and have fun :) 1) Post Exam Dinner   Just a simple dinner post exam at Shokudo (haven't been there for so long! was last there with HQ friends if i'm not wrong) followed by a fun talking session at Macdonalds. 2) Kbox with AMK Gang The 4 uncles (reu, zl, drei and me), with jh and yq, went for kbox. Many many ultimate moments which left (mostly) jh and me having many inside jokes haha. Can only say "都是你的错"! Spent really good time with this group of friends this week :) 3) Kbox with P.gals and Genehow   Ok, i dunno how best to call the gals (xj, yl, hy, hc, sw) so i'm calling them P(harm).gals until i find a better name haha... It was an ALL CHINESE SONG affair, ANOTHER 2-7pm kbox session for me in the same week. But still fun nevertheless considering i've never been to Kbox with the gals (i pangseh-ed them two times? :X). 4) Out with Terr  I seldom would say i'm a good friend to be with, but i can proudly say that after supper with Terr HAHA. he managed get 30% discount of everything at starbucks BECAUSE OF ME :) haha. And I FINALLY managed to buy myself a new pair of shoes for going out when we met at Orchard on friday. and before i forget, to say how glad i am to see the work of our second collaboration (with yt of cos): my second music article in the engin newsletter!   5) The Backup Plan with Fio. One word: B.A.C.K. Thursday, May 6, 2010 Yups, back for good. Never thought i would or could "abandon" this blog for as long as i did this school semester but i did. Not because of studies, but of me realising i didn't need to use this tool to say the things i want to say. Still, i'm back this time, and this blog would serve like sorta "Holiday Adventures of Joel" HAHA... Not so much adventures, but things i'm been doing during the holidays. Whether i will continue to neglect it during school semester is another undecided matter, although generally i have less to blog about during school (especially since i'm decided to NOT BLOG too personal stuff.). Well, a little note on what's been going on the past semester: 1) Heartland Hotties / Radio I spent the last semester worrying mainly worrying about my USA trip, but this time round, i was reminiscing the hilarious moments on my Heartland Hotties show with my dear Hotties! Honestly, it was the only thing that keep me entertained during the school term (other than my swedish fix ha). I looked forward to Fridays cause there was recording and bound to be another round of laughter. It was a great decision to move to another show from last semester's fashion show, to a TOTALLY DIFFERENT CREW. I was definitely hesistant at first since i didn't know anyone. But i guess the diversity of personalities led to amazing fireworks :) haha. It's probably the best way to end my unforgettable experience in Radio. 2) Exchange Talks This semester TRYING to go on exchange was big in my minds, and probably, some of my friends'. I guess i tried really hard to get an opporunity to study overseas but maybe the stars were not aligned for me this time. It's quite ironic considering the acceptance came in the day i officially turned down my offer for the exchange because i deemed it too costly and not worthwhile. Not exactly disappointed because i'm already comforted by the support i had from my friends who really listened to me (thanks bee, monkey, ter, meng, germ, reu, hy, sw, yl and yuk) and probably because i know that this holidays will be a good one since i can spend due quality time with the best of friends without the stress of studies :))) 3) One Big Cycle Post-USA, it was time to catch up with my friends once again, i had tons to tell them anyway haha. i dunno how i managed to do it but i did, for 4 weeks consecutive, i went out for around 20 times coming almost full cycle during school term itself haha. Seeing my friends is the best thing so it doesn't matter how tiring it gets. 4) NGGGGG-Gan. Taking the super secretive elective module with some of my pharm peeps (and eljx, of course) was quite the second best thing in this semester. Tons of stupid jokes, especially with genehow and eljx, which including "NGGGGGG-gan" (we have a field day just trying to pronounce this word), stupid questions like "How many people was in that picture?!" and even making fun of Ben (Benthos - "DIAN DI" omg hilarious). Let's not forget the torturous field trips which totally worn me out (in the midst of cycle one haha), but it was still fun and interesting to do something we'll probably never get to do in the near future. music.city.soul || 9:26 AM || 0 comments |
