My first time in South Korea and another trip of interesting memories :) Of course, i managed to meet up with my Korean friends (with much effort though :/) and had a good time catching up with them. But other than that, i had about 5 days of solo travel, and it wasn't lonely at all. Making new friends during my time in Seoul and Jeju-do - Ulrike, Stefanie, Joy and "Big Bird" - was probably the highlight of this trip. And definitely, shopping. MAJOR SHOPPING haha.Wednesday, August 1, 2012 21st July (Singapore to Incheon) Dinner with parents at airport Fly to KL low cost airport for transit Fly to South Korea - Incheon airport 22nd July (Seoul) Reached incheon airport Tried to call Minji/Helen but no one picked up Took the AREX to Hongik University Tried to find guesthouse/lost in Hongdae Took a cab to guesthouse, walked around and found it Walked around guesthouse and Hongdae again Bathe at guesthouse Met Minji for lunch (Kong Bul) at Hongdae Went to Trick eye museum Went to Yeonairu station and bought ferry tix Chill and chat at Angel-in-us cafe Took Han River cruise Saw Banpo bridge/rainbow bridge :) Walked around Myeongdong (ate tteobokki) Ate at Lotteria - Hanwoo burger Back to guesthouse 23rd July (Seoul) Met Minji at Gyeongbokgung Walked around Gyeongbokgung Saw changing of Royal palace guards Walked around National Folk Museum Had lunch (noodle soup - forgot the name) Went to Namsamgol Hanok Village Walked to Myeongdong Had fruit waffles for tea at Beans Bins Cafe Walked to/ard Namdaemun Took the cable car up to Seoul Tower Walked around Seoul Tower Waited til 730pm for light show Bus to Myeongdong - Korean BBQ pork/ssam :9 24th July (Seoul) Met Jenny at Ewha Women's University area Bus to Sangbong to meet Helen Train to Gapyeong and taxi to Nami Island Immigration Centre Ferry to Nami Island Walked ard Nami Island (Winter Sonata! haha) Lunch at Pizzeria Taxi/train to Insadong Desert (pa pingsu?) and rest Walked ard insadong and samcheongdong Dinner at samcheongdong Walked ard Dongdaemun - Migliore and Doota Chill and talk at Beans Bins cafe - Travel planning haha Goodbye to Helen and Jenny 25th July (Seoul) Breakfast at guesthouse Train to Hapjeong/bus 2200 to Heyri Art Village (in Paju) Walked around village (including book museum) Bus back to Hapjeong and Train to Itaewon Walked around Itaewon market Lunch at KFC Walked to Leeum Museum of Art Train to Seoul Station - Siloam Jimjilbang - the best massage ever! :X haha Train to Dongdaemun shopping area Dinner at Doota italian restaurant (my pasta was way too spicy!) Went to Suweolbong Lunch at/Walk ard Spirited Gardens Climbed up Mt Sanbang Went to Cheongjeyeon waterfall (dipped my feet in cool clear water! hehe) Went to Dongmun mkt w tour member Ulrike! :) v nice lady Walked around jeju-si Underground shopping Walked to downtown Dinner at Korean restaurant :) GREAT MEAL! Taxi back to guesthouse 28th July (Jeju-do - East Course Tour) Breakfast at guesthouse Met Joy at tour! :) At the Trick eye museum again! Saw the Seongeup folk village Lunch (jeju black pork bbq) Climbed up sunrise peak! so hot and not worth it! HAHA Saw Hanyeo women diver show Passed by jong dal ri shore road for phototaking Walked through Manjanggul lava cave! so long and tiring Rest at guesthouse Korean Dinner with Joy & Big Bird! :DD Walking to downtown with Joy Back to guesthouse 29th July (Jeju to Seoul) Breakfast at guesthouse Bus to hamdeok beach with Joy Swim and camwhoring at beach :) so beautiful!!!
