After 5 late nights of reading, i am very proud to say i've finally completed the Harry Potter Book Series with "The Deathly Hallows". Though technically, i'm a cheater, i only started from "Azakaban" (the first two parts i've watched the movie and i was too lazy to read the books knowing how roughly the story already went. haha)Sunday, March 15, 2009 The book is utmost intriguing and exciting. I mean, OBVIOUSLY. Most of the book i've touched made me sleep faster than when i try to sleep early. This "Deathly Hallows" kept me up to almost 1am from Monday to Friday last week as i immersed myself in the magical world. But though i was tired during work, the lack of sleep was worth for this short moment of excitement. And i must say, RARE moment, considering the next book i will touch will be in another one year? haha. Well, besides accomplishing this one-book-a-year aim (THIS IS SO SAD right? haha), the past week has been quite pleasant too. On thursday, i was invited back to my army camp (or i should say old workplace) for my ex-boss, Ms Yv's farewell from the unit. Though i felt it's abit weird, considering I'VE ALREADY LEFT THE PLACE (farewell's for people who will lose her, not me, who she's already "lost", geddit? haha), i thought it was interesting to go back to camp after three months. Three months, if you count it, is not short, but not long either. Not that long for people to forget you and how you look like, but not that long for people to "miss" your presence i guess haha. But don't think anyone's missing me, i mean change is constant so people move on... haha. Well, there was some video presentation for Ms Yv, showing incredulously un-glam pictures of her (put together an incredulously lame old idiot i shall not name, who also made me pay quite alot for a buffet i didn't realy enjoy haha - taking any chance i have to slam that person. haha). Then there was a SCARILY INTERESTING performance of Oh-My-Tian/oldpig JJ in his Britney Spears' Toxic/Baby One More time medley. As i've told him, he looked like a snake. He's so tall and so thin at the same time he looks so snakey.... (snakey is the only adjective i can think of to best fit how he looked, but my vocabulary's limited anyway, sighs..) Lastly, there's karaoke to entertain everyone. Though i didn't speak much to my ex-boss, guess my presence was good enough as a form of blessing as she moves on to her new work position. Following up, i'm glad to declare that i now look ABIT tanner than usual(!!!). haha. That's because i've just visited Sentosa yesterday with ma guys from army (Ron, BBQ, Ter-weeds, Oh-My-Tian, Marc, Maxim and CM). It was kinda a gathering to commemorate Maxim's ORD, though it wasn't greatly emphasised as the theme of the day (opps? haha). But ultimately, we managed to meet up and have fun, so that counts for alot already haha. (No photos for this since we all forgot to bring cameras, but we had nothing to show anyway... haha) Well, i was pretty hesistant about visiting the sunny "mini-island" of fun, since i've heard stories of super buff bodies showing off their muscles and athletic skills on the beach. And i wasn't really to expose myself to any form of embarrassment. But i guess the reality isn't that scary la... Maybe because i was with a bunch of guys of the same calibre as me (to be fair, some are much better in shape than me, but in comparison to some market-spoilers we saw, even theirs didn't amount to very much lol haha). I mean, true, you have the flesh parade of dashing alpha males and bikini babes, but you also have the family fanfare of class gatherings and well... us. So it's pretty balanced. The eye chooses what it wants to see i think. haha. At first we were pretty nooby trying to play volleyball, beside though regular beach-volleyballers. But as we played among ourselves more, we sorta got the hang of it and had some fun. We also entertained ourselves with frisbee, for the others, soccer and basketball so it was pretty free-and-easy. Good for me since i got the workout i so desperately need and a tan which is definitely good to have too! haha. There's some pinkish red that looks like my PINK OF HEALTH, but i know it's just slight sunburnt but whatever right? hahahaha. I'm just very glad to return to this sunny part of Singapore after so many years. The only remaining memory i have of Sentosa is of a maid i used to have whose name was called Sentosa, and thats not even about the place LOL. haha. (we couldn't bear to call the maid Sentosa cause it felt damn weird.. so we called her by her surname instead haha) After the beach activity, we washed up and headed back to Vivocity to have our lunch before deciding on POOL as the afternoon activity. If you know me, i HATE POOL. But i didn't wanna go home, and there's no other activity they could do to accomodate me (they couldn't possibly WINDOW-SHOP with me right? haha), so i accomodated them haha. But it was not boring somehow cause they took turns to play and the free one would talk and gossip with me. And i love gossiping and talking hehe. (ok, i need to be less gossipy and meanie - after what Meng told me haha) When pool was done, we headed to Astons' at The Cathay for our dinner. It was cheap and good and very filling. Considering i've come down with some weird poor-appetite syndrome for the past one week, i ate more normally on Saturday night. Another plus for that day haha. Well, guess the day was pleasant in so many more ways huh... haha. Sunday is back to rest for me, since i need to recharge my battery before work and recharge my ipod :) haha. ****************************************************************************** this happened LAST SATURDAY (abit "long ago" - since i've cut my hair shorter already - so it's here =X) Nevertheless, HAPPY 21st BIRTHDAY KENNY :) my 3 wishes for you are: 1. MORE friends 2. MORE Sweetness in life 3. MORE gifts and pleasant surprises music.city.soul || 9:46 PM || 0 comments |
